I am also writing to tell you about a rain occurrence we had on a game night in September. We received over 6” of rain in just under two hours. The only other time I have seen rain like this was during Hurricane Katrina. The officiating crew recommended that we cancel the game because in their opinion the field couldn’t possibly be playable. I was of course infuriated and immediately marched out on the field during the rain storm. I began jumping up and down on the field and could not even get the smallest of splashes. There was no visible water anywhere on the football field. The head official looked at me and said one word, “amazing”. In my 25 years of coaching I can honestly say no other facility could have hosted any event after this type of rain intensity.

The GeoGreen field was selected by the NFL to be the host surface for the annual NFL Quarterback Challenge competition that is held on Grand Cayman. The NFL representatives unanimously selected the surface after touring all of the fields on the island.

When investigating infill turfs for our project, we were told over and over by the so-called “consultants” that there was essentially no difference in the turf that each company offered. This could not be more untrue. Either these people are blind or have no fundamental understanding of turf construction and physical characteristics. When inspecting all three fields, the difference is vast and almost comical in comparison. The other two fields seem black and the blades of grass are so sparse they are almost invisible in many parts of the field. The GeoGreen surface has no visible infill and the density of the grass is overwhelming. This takes the function and performance of this surface to a different level in direct comparison to the other fields on the island.

Your system has already been exposed to a range of temperatures (90 to sub-zero) and functioned exactly as your design predicted. None of the negatives that were constantly voiced to us by your competitors in reference to the GeoFlo and its ability to function in our extreme climate conditions are valid. The grade stability and drainage performance are obviously superior to any other field that we have constructed or been associated with in Alaska. 

We are also pleased that your claims of “no flyout” and infill stability were not just sales-talk. The rubber pellets are invisible on the GeoGreen surface and have not exhibited the infill problems we have seen on other recently constructed projects, by other turf companies. We could not be happier with the selection we made for our athletic surface. Everything was even better than advertised. There is absolutely no visible infill and no flyout. We have never had to clean our facility or our track due to sand or rubber pellets being tracked and moved all over the facility. We have played on multiple artificial surfaces and this is the only one that doesn’t look black when you stand on it and look down. When you look down at our surface, you actually see grass, not infill.

 Being located in South Louisiana, drainage is a tremendous concern. Even during hurricane like rains, we have never had a single accumulation of water on our field. Not even the bounce of a soccer ball can get a splash during heavy rains.
