IMG Academies uses GeoTrax Technology

The prestigious IMG Academies in Bradenton, FL has installed the GeoTrax technology to enhance the training experience of the high caliber athletes it specializes in training.  IMG host such groups as the Nike Sprint and Hurdling Group that represents Team USA lead by sprint and hurdling super coach Loren Seagrave.  IMG also works with the Chinese National Track team and was host to over 100 NFL draft selections for the pre-combine workouts.

“Just before leaving for an event in Korea I did short approach technical run sessions with the Chinese Long Jumper, Li Jin Zhe (8.19m).  He is currently in rehab mode for a hamstring strain we inherited from his prior camp.  He really liked the way the surface felt, as did Olympic Gold Medalist hurdler Angelo Taylor”, said Seagrave.  “We are excited, it seems to perform as advertised.  The Opti-Gait (Opti-Jump as its called in Europe) Company is coming in with their equipment and it is our intention to do a comparative analysis of the GeoTrax surface and the traditional track surface that has been installed for the past six to eight years behind the IPI Complex.  We were going to look at 30-meter acceleration and base the comparative analysis off of these results.”

“We are extremely proud to have our technology used as part of the enhanced, high caliber, training experience at IMG”, Charles Dawson, CEO of GeoSurfaces said.  The greatest athletes in the world train at IMG and the GeoTrax technology will be a great addition to the facilities”.

The surface will be installed in time for the 2011 NFL combine workouts.
